Sarah's StoryPoem4

Breathless

Some things,
like a knife,
striking a nerve,
make us breathless.

Some things,
have a bigger impact,
 and seem to be,
a dream or a nightmare.

Some things,
can truly matter.
Standing out,
in dark lights.

Some things,
can be hard.
Waking up,
feeling breathless.

Story Poetry Journal
I wrote this poem because it shows how things can sometimes be the opposite of what they seem to be. Things can truly stab you, figuratively speaking. They can cause hurt or pain. This can make you feel "breathless". This poem explains that things can be luck. They can be good or bad. My inspiration for this poem is watching someone go through this and feeling this way. It inspired me to write a poem on how some people are feeling.
When people read this poem, I want them to experience hurt and sorrow. I want them to feel sympathy for people who are going through this. Maybe they are feeling like this and it can kind of awaken them. This poem is a metaphor because it doesn't really make you feel breathless. Although it can sometimes feel like that. I also include similes in the poem. I use a simile in the lines," Like a knife, striking a nerve." This means that things can really hurt like a knife stab.
The mood of the story is dangerous and mysterious. It is very slow and eye-opening. It is more peaceful to the mind. But it is full of worries. The line that shows the mood is," Seem to be, a dream or a nightmare." This means that something can turn into the opposite of what it really is . It can either be a good dream or a frightening nightmare.
